5 Schoolmates – 1 Tour

Petra and Wolfgang Vieten and their schoolmates organize a trip through the USA . In Texas, they are extras in the TV series “ Dallas ”. This hits the headlines back home and triggers invitations to different TV stations. 800 Dallas fans write a letter to them to join them to America in the next year.

1986

60 Guests – 2 Tours

During their semester break they act as tour guides for the first two groups. Not in Dallas but at the East Coast from New York down to Florida as well as in the West.

1987

110 Guests – 3 Tours

Friends and family have to support them to process all the incoming mail and to organize the new programmes: the participants from the previous year are busy doing word-of-mouth advertising. A Florida tour during the Easter Holiday, a large group to the West in summer and the first tour to Hawaii are the result.

Again, the number of customers doubles, the trips are being organized more professionally. With the new TV channel RTLplus a 11-week long viewers’ trip from coast to coast in the USA is being advertised. Canada is newly included in the portfolio.

With so many customers the job during their semester break the job becomes more and more a full time job. Crisscross through America, especially regularly back to the natural wonders of California, Utah and Arizona. Alaska expands the portfolio V10 turns into a professional private limited company and is no longer a insider tip among students and campers only.

1990

600 Guests - 14 Tours

After the Fall of the Wall many America fans from Eastern Germany join. As do the first employees. Petra works more and more as a model for agencies in London and Los Angeles and receives engagements as TV programme announcer with RTL. Wolfgang completes his state examination and sport diploma and flies to the Football World Cup to Italy. The company moves to Meerbusch, San Diego becomes their second office.

1991

800 Guests - 23 Tours

The USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are meanwhile the focal  destinations. They are completed by tailor-made incentive trips for corporate clients, the first one heading to the Bahamas. The catalogue "Abenteuer & Sightseeing" replaces the up until then traditional photostats and printed brochures. Thus, also the sales and distribution in the travel agencies starts.

900 Guests - 27 Tours

Petra starts her TV career. She becomes a "lotto fairy" at SDR Television, wins a competition for the best newcoming TV presenter in Germany out of 1,800 talents and plays act in the successful ARD series "Lindenstraße" for the next seven years. Vietens are tour guides in their own company for the past year...

900 Guests - 25 Tours

At the ITB (Tourism Fair) in Berlin they get to know the Managing Director of "Tickets und Reisen" of the Football World Cup. Since that WC takes place in the USA they are aiming at several tickets for 20-25 football fans among their USA clients. Petra uses her TV contacts and advertises the World cup offers as talk member at Gottschalk & Co. During several TV shows she meets football stars like Toni Schumacher and Uwe Reinders who she invites als guest stars to the World Cup. She presents music shows for SAT.1 together with Jörg Pilawa.

1994

2,200 World Cup Guests and 400 USA Travellers

The World Cup demands a lot of commitment - full speed or not at all. V10 is nominated "Official Tour Operator", obtains logo rights and the highly demanded tickets for the German market. For 18 months and 18 hours per day the work has now one motto: the World Cup. Three months prior to the World Cup, 40 employees are quickly recruited. Not everything runs smoothly - like for the German National Team - as suddenly they host more than 2,000 guests instead of 20. Very popular among the fans are the WC-parties - Heino sings RTL broadcasts, J.B. Kerner comments, Petra presents. Even in case the Southfork Ranch in Dallas should run out of beer...

1995

400 Sport and 400 Adventure Guests

Staff and tour guides are responsible for the adventure trips to Amercia, Australia and now South Africa since 2 years. Besides the "Lindenstraße" Petra now also plays act on a permanent basis in the ZDF series "Jede Menge Leben". For Wolfgang his hobbies travelling and sport are his mission and dream job. He now also plans trips to international matches and the Formula 1.

1996

2,000 Sport and 200 Adventure Guests

Destiny is in favour of V10 again. The Summer Games, too, take place in the USA - meanwhile their second home. Thus, they are making every effort for tickets again and successfully. The German Olympic Societay, the Sport Youth Federations of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Free State of Thuringia as well as Federal Family Minister Claudia Nolte are among almost 1,000 guests in Atlanta. Twelve days prior to the Games Germany becomes European Champion in England. Live in Wembley are 1,000 fans from V10. Group leader Uwe Seeler and Klaus Allofs report live and directly about Klinsmann & Co.

350 Sport and 200 Adventure Guests

The past year, V10 organizes adventure and sightseeing trips. From the World Cup year 1998 the focus is purley on sports. Highlight in 1997 is the World Championship in Athletics in Athens. The head office moves back to Düsseldorf.

3,000 World cup and 900 Sport Guests

Despite the worldwide ticket scandal, 3,000 V10 guests can experience the World Cup matches live at the stadiums in France. After the World Cup the Düsseldorf office enforce their team with an economic expert.

1,000 Sport Guests

Sport and Millenium trips as well as the prepartions of the Millennium Games in Sydney are the focus of all work. Especially the almost 1,000 member-large saving club "Reisegemeinschaft Sydney 2000 e.V." are supported in their planning and saving plans for an entire Olympiad (4 years)

500 European Championship, 900 Sydney and 1,500 Millennium and Sport Guests

Due to the ticket chaos at the World Cup in France not many fans travel to the European Championship in Beglium and the Netherlands. However, with 99% of sold tickets and hotel allocations as well as many pre- and post tours, Sydney becomes a full success. Again it is more than helpful that a sport event takes place in a country in which V10 holds several years of expertise. First hotel contracts are signed for the Football World Cup 2006 before Germany is announced Host Country.

2001

2,000 Sport Guests

The new partnerships with the leading German sport federations ensure the proximity to the athletes. The German Track 'n' Field Federation and the World Cup in Edmonton in July as well as the German Basketball Federation and its encounters with the national team including superstar Dirk Nowitzki are the first federations for who V10 becomes their promoter and travel partner. V10 honours the boom about World Champion Michael Schumacher and Ferrari with a separate Formula 1 catalogue.

500 World Cup and 1,500 Sport Guests

Trips to the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City and to the World Cup in Korea and Japan are this year's higlights. Despite few fans and tickets the high turnover with these destinations ensures a further success. V10 becomes a full-service agency for renowned companies, official sponsors, the economic as well as political world.

1,200 Sport Guests

Since three years, the new COO Frank Jungemann operates in Athens to secure hotel allotments for the Summer Games 2004. Doing this so successfully, that V10 has enough capacities to enter the international market, too. The team grows and especially the National and International Sales Department are built up.

3,000 European Championship, 7,300 Athens and 600 Sport Guests

So far the most successful year. Several thousand clients join us to the European Football Championships in Portugal and the Summer Games in Athens. Active athletes - like the entire swimming team - celebarte at the parties. In Greece, V10 holds the worldwide largest room block after the organizing committee ATHOC. 7,300 guests from 35 different countries book 30,000 room nights in our 1,700 rooms in 66 different hotels.

2005

1,300 Confed Cup and Sport Guests

The company becomes more and more international. One year prior to the Football World Cup V10 has invited guests from 39 countries on occasion of the Confederations Cup in Germany. Colleagues from Germany and overseas book their needs. The Purchasing Department provides the touristic services  (hotels, transfers, locations) for this purpose. Instead of Meerbusch a new branch is founded in Bonn-Wachtberg.

2006

51,000 World Cup and 2,000 Torino and Sport Guests

The Winter Games in Torino are the prelude to the World Cup. V10 is responsible for hotels and other touristic services for high-ranking politicians like the Federal President and the Federal Ministers. Foreign tour operators, sports and advertising agencies, travel agencies and fans from all over the world ensure that the World Cup in Germany will be a full success for V10, too. 50,000 guests from 99 different countries, eleven out of the 15 sponsors and 230,000 sold room nights in 800 hotels prove this. The only downer: that one can only mediate WC tickets to one’s loyal regular customers. V10 had to promise many fans at the next World Cup. But in the end: who had enough tickets for this World Cup

2007

3,000 Handball World Cup and 1,000 Sport Guests 

At the Handball World Cup in Germany V10 is active in many areas. As one of six National Partners and Sponsors we not only organize trips of many national and international companies and fans but also the Sports Medical Conference 2007, the journalists’ trips as well as the parties for the Opening Ceremony in Berlin and the Closing Ceremony with 1,300 guests in Cologne. Also at the party: Bundesliga stars and even the current national players. Petra Vieten presents all of these events – from the gala evening for the Opening of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in Berlin with Heiner Brand to the premier of the official World Cup movie Project Gold in Dresden in front of 7,000 spectators and the entire World Cup Team.

2008

5,000 European Championship, 2,500 Beijing and 2,000 Sport Guests

Thousands of guests are travelling to the EC to Klagenfurt, Vienna and Basle. Thus, they not only experience the German Team’s participation in the Final but also the many side events hosted by V10; like the 1954er Semi Final revenge between the “Wunder von Bern” film crew vs. an Austrian All-Star Team, the parties on the castle of the Ruin of Finkenstein as well as the party at the race-course Magna Racino in Vienna. At the Summer Games in Beijing Petra Vieten presents many former gold medallists and current Olympian at the Champions Club on all of the 18 evenings.

9.000 Sport Guests

FIFA selects V10 as Participating Tour Operator for the Word Cup South Africa 2010™. For 1000 German Guests, complete packages incl. ticket, air travel, hotel and side-programming are organized. 7.000 Fans from 37 nations stay at 98 V10-Hotels and 65.000 Fans visit the especially created International Football Village. With the Village in Johannesburg V10 offers a meeting site for national und international guests. Under the motto "One Family" celebrate fans, natives and campanies World Cup 2010 in a safe environment.

2011

2.000 Sport Guests

In April, in Bonn, the large 25-year-V10 anniversary party with 400 guests, partners and many customers, even the first few hours instead. At the conclusion of the anniversary season Vietentours by FIFA for the fourth time appointed tour operators and authorized to offer tickets and travel services for the FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany and to use the World Cup logo. The preparations for the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine as well as the Olympic Games in London are already the focus of the work.

2012

V10 is the title sponsor for the "V10 Volleyball Cup finals" in Halle and renewed the contract with the Handball-Bundesliga up to 2014 and is an official partner of "Team London". In soccer, volleyball, basketball, handball, Champions League Cup Final held V10 their parties, some of which enjoy official status. Highlights, however, are the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine with 2.200 guests and above all the „Best Summer Games Ever“ in London with 7.000 guests.

2013

Highlights of the year are the Handball World Championship in Spain and the Athletic World Championships in Moscow as well as the Basketball European Championships in Slovenia and the Confederations Cup in Brazil. The Football World Cup 2014 has already become a dominating theme this year by the qualification matches, the V10 Kick-off Party in September, the preparations, and the first bookings.
